Anytime we take steps forward in Christ, we gain territory over the enemy. Once territory is gained, the enemy is angry and he’ll do any and everything to stop our progress or take back what we’ve gained. The enemy was angry at the territory that was gained over him this weekend, but God showed Himself strong and answered my prayers. In the midst my attack, The Lord was also testing how I responded to Him and my reaction to fear when the enemy striked.
I had an awesome time this weekend at F.L.O. (For Ladies Only) DAY OF PRAYER through Sarah’s Daughters Ministries…an amazing ministry and always an amazing time in the Lord…breakthrough, rejuvenation, refreshing, His Presence, deliverance, answered prayers, worship, etc. God was with us in that prayer room and territory was gained over the enemy for everyone…God was with us. This weekend was special…not only did we commemorate the death, burial and resurrection of our Risen Savior, but real healing and deliverance took place….TGBTG!
I understood the impact our breakthrough had on the enemy, so I was armed, prepared and postured in prayer to counter-attack anything he tried to do, but apparently, there was an area I wasn’t prepared for.
Yesterday, as I sat in prayer and began to work on a project for the Lord, out of no where, the enemy sent an attack…this attack was unlike any other I’ve encountered…it was an unknown territory…it had me nervous and anxious and I didn’t know what to do or how to respond to it…honestly, it made me fearful and in my fear, all I knew to do was pray.
Everything happened so fast I didn’t have time to process what I needed to do, or reach out to someone, my husband, mom or a friend to guide me…It was during this time, the Lord was silent. I just kept praying:
“Lord, I’m not sure what to do, but whatever it is, I’m going to trust you, I’m going to trust you have my back, I trust whatever decision I just made you will turn it around for my good, you will expose the enemy, I trust you will protect me from harm, show yourself strong and come to my aid. I’m not sure what to do, but I trust You have my back.”
While the enemy was attacking me, at the same time, The Lord was testing me…He was quiet. During this attack, the enemy struck me with fear and my fear crippled my reasoning and I didn’t have good judgement. Once I began to recognize the hand of the enemy, God gave me wisdom and stopped his hand…The Lord showed me what to do, reversed it and covered me. What the enemy tried to accomplish could have cost me a whole lot…a whole lot…but in the midst of this attack, the Lord had my back.
The Lord wants us to safeguard ourselves in our fight to overcome. As we overcome, we’re gaining ground and something as simple as losing weight, stopping a habit or beginning on our journey in the Lord, the enemy will set up traps to overcome us and keep us bound. In these times, we need to be on guard.
As I overcome, I’m seeing how the enemy is trying to distract and throw me off course to derail my progress. If I’ve never known it, I surely know it now…my overcoming obesity, is a serious, serious war. This weight loss battle is serious spiritual warfare. The enemy is losing ground…God has truly healed me of many things since the conception of this blog…lifetime wounds… and because of my inner healing, I have a better grip on tackling the external behavior I’ve been trying to correct for so long…finally, I’m beginning to see the weight come off FOR MYSELF…TGBTG!
In the midst of my victories, there’s a real battle going on and the enemy is showing his head. Not only am I winning, but there are other’s too that God is speaking to and getting them ready for their purpose.
