“A New Day, A New Birth & My Second Chance in Christ at 40!” 2016

Today is the day I turn 40, TGBTG!!!

As I reflect over my life and the things I’ve been through, I know for sure, God could have thrown in the towel with me a long time ago. With the sin I’ve been in, the places I’ve gone, the ungodly relationships I’ve engaged in and past poor decisions, He would have had every right. I know today, my life could be so different and I know I exist only because of His Grace and Mercy.  I know I should be dead BUT TODAY, I’m not and I’m turning 40!!!  Today, I not only celebrate not just being alive, but being whole, going through a process of healing and being in my purpose in CHRIST. Today, I celebrate and Glorify God just for WHO He Is and the second chance He’s given me in Christ.

It’s been two decades since I’ve been battling Morbid Obesity. It’s been almost 20 years of agonizing, travailing and pleading with God to help me change, but being helpless to change myself. During this journey, I didn’t realize the power He’d given me to change, but today, and every day, I’m learning about that power and learning to walk in it. It was in 2015, I decided to take back my life, get a grip on what the roots of my struggles were and I was determined to fight even if it killed me until I reached my promise.

Today, not only do I celebrate turning 40, but also celebrating going from 325 pounds in pregnancy weight to currently 250 pounds. For me, that’s progress and amazing considering I hadn’t been 250 pounds in over 7 1/2 years since I got married. My fight is far from over, but I’m learning to celebrate the process and not look at how much further I have to go, but the miracle The Lord is performing now.

Today, I also celebrate the birth of B.O.O.M!.  It was a year ago that B.O.O.M! was just a thought, an idea, a vision The Lord placed on my heart that I had no idea how I’d be able to fulfill it. I had no idea on how to develop a website and all the components that went along with it, not to mention, share my most vulnerable thoughts, feelings and struggles to the world.  I’m here to tell you, when God wants you to do something, He’ll empower and equip you to do it.

Today, I’m also celebrating B.O.O.M!’s 1-Year Anniversary Worship Encounter Experience, a night of Worship and basking in the Presence of God. It’s B.O.O.M!’s first event hosted at our Church, Gospel Tabernacle Church of Christ at 99 Lincoln Avenue in New Rochelle, NY. I’m so excited and my excitement has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with God. I’ve been in a wilderness season, a season of preparation and it’s been beyond arduous and today, I’m seeing the glimpse of His promises come to pass. I’m excited about the possibilities as I move forward in Him. I’m excited for other people’s deliverance, healing and breakthrough during this movement in general and during our Worship Encounter evening. If you live in the area and are free, you don’t want to miss this amazing evening with Christ.

Today, I’m turning over a new leaf, a new Chapter in my life and I’m excited. I’m shedding and leaving the sorrow of the last 20 years behind. I don’t know what awaits me, but I trust in God.

For those of you striving to move forward, I encourage you, Let Christ Finish The Work He Started in You and don’t despise where you are in your life. If He’s bringing me from despondency, despair and from a valley of dry bones, He’ll do it for you.

For every season, there’s a purpose. Our small beginnings will eventually grow if He finds us faithful in the season we’re in.  If you’re looking for the promise of a greater tomorrow, be encouraged, tomorrow will come. Be patient with God’s process.  Every day as we strive in Christ, He’s moving us closer and closer to our destiny, closer and closer to our purpose and closer and closer to our promise. Look up, your someday may be today, rest and be found faithful, grateful and wait in expectation, it’s coming. Keep Looking Up!

God bless you my brother’s and sister’s.  It’s been an honor and pleasure sharing with you this year. Continue to join me as the journey continues. As always, Be Encouraged, Stay Connected, Fight and Let’s Become Free Together.
