“Our Biggest Fight: Dying To Self & The Power of Consecration, Making A Vow & Committing To Change” Part 10

As I was working out at the gym on Tuesday, The Lord lead me to listen to a YouTube video by Apostle Guillermo Maldonado called “A Vow Of Consecration To God.”  As I listened, I felt The Lord pricking my heart and I knew once I was finished with my workout, He was calling me to go home and physically present something before Him that would initiate a new level of breakthrough to help facilitate my change.

Throughout my entire journey of physically transforming my body, I’ve committed many things to The Lord and I’ve followed through. However, during this season, I’m fighting tooth and nail to keep the ground I’ve gained over the enemy AND, take over new territory that hasn’t been conquered yet. It’s been a struggle, sometimes discouraging and at times, I’m really battling.  I’m at a crossroads where I need more of God because there’s more required of me, and actually, I need a miracle and a new level of anointing to help me finish this course because this process is getting harder.

As I was praying yesterday, The Lord lead me to 1 Thessalonians 4:1 (GNT),

Finally, our friends, you learned from us how you should live in order to please God. This is, of course, the way you have been living. And now we beg and urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to DO EVEN MORE.

“DO EVEN MORE” resonated with me.

I’ve changed a great deal these last couple of years and I’ve come extremely far in my efforts to not only transform my body, but my mind, my heart, my soul, my habits etc. I know thus far, The Lord has been pleased with my breakthrough, but, I feel Him saying to me,

“There’s MORE Required of You! DO EVEN MORE!”

So as I read 1 Thessalonians 4:1, what stuck out to me was “DO EVEN MORE!”

Do what? If what I’m currently doing is not working for me and I’m struggling, I have to do something differently and perhaps, “DO EVEN MORE!”

As Apostle Maldonado ministered to me about consecration, making a vow to change to The Lord and laying on the alter those things that hinder us, I came home and I got busy.

I went home, shut the phone off, played Apostle’s sermon and as He prayed, I went into my entire house, assembled every snack and food item that has been tripping me up, packed it up in an box, anointed it and began to pray and break every soul tie I have with food and then, I got rid of it.

I then pulled out every picture of every family member that has passed away, anointed it and began to pray and break every soul tie of the trauma and grief caused by those deaths and the attachments I’ve made with food as a result of my grief and broke soul ties and bondage’s over that too. Then, I laid my heart on the alter.  I gave Him every burden, concern, hurt and pain I felt.

I’ve always declared to God I’d finish the assignment He placed on my life, but this time, I made a vow to Him that if He’d come to my rescue and supernaturally help me overcome obesity and break everything and anything standing in my way, not only would I complete my assignment, but I’d go back and dedicate my life to help others break their chains too.

These things I’ve never done before. So when I feel like giving up, I’ll remember my vow and DO EVEN MORE! I’m desperate, I need more help to change and I know that what I vowed to God, He’ll honor and help me all the more.  I’m all in now holding NOTHING BACK!

The next day, I felt Christ supernaturally uprooted and broke something in me. I woke up feeling different and I know without a shadow of a doubt, that strongman that’s been plaguing and stopping me is removed and I feel a shift in the atmosphere for my favor and help.

When people in the bible were in desperate trouble, they made a commitment to God and God honored their vow by sending help:

Psalm 76:11-12 (NIV)

11 Make vows to the Lord your God and fulfill them; let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the One to be feared.
12 He breaks the spirit of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.

1 Samuel 1:11
She made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a son, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head.”

Genesis 28:20-22
Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will keep me on this journey that I take, and will give me food to eat and garments to wear, and I return to my father’s house in safety, then the LORD will be my God. “This stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”

Judges 11:30-40
Jephthah made a vow to the LORD and said, “If You will indeed give the sons of Ammon into my hand, then it shall be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the sons of Ammon, it shall be the LORD’S, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering.” So Jephthah crossed over to the sons of Ammon to fight against them; and the LORD gave them into his hand.

2 Samuel 15:7-8

Now it came about at the end of forty years that Absalom said to the king, “Please let me go and pay my vow which I have vowed to the LORD, in Hebron. “For your servant vowed a vow while I was living at Geshur in Aram, saying, ‘If the LORD shall indeed bring me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.'”

Psalm 66:13-14
I shall come into Your house with burnt offerings; I shall pay You my vows, Which my lips uttered And my mouth spoke when I was in distress.

I encourage you, if you’re desperate for change, Christ may be requiring you to DO EVEN MORE. If you’re sick and tired of where you are, what you’re battling with or need a supernatural breakthrough, make a vow to God and give him those things you’ve been holding back.  As we commit that ‘thing” at the alter and make a vow unto The Lord, He’ll supernaturally deliver us and in turn, we’ll honor Him by fulfilling those vows that His Kingdom Be Glorified!

Continue to join me as I share with you what Christ is sharing with me about overcoming. As always, Be Encouraged, Stay Connected, Fight and Let’s Become Free Together. Let’s continue to keep one another in prayer, we all need it!

Definitely watch this video, it helped to shift some things for me.

In His Name,
