God has a way, if we let him, to quite our souls in the midst of devastation, disappointment and despair.
If you live long enough, life has a way of bringing you to your knees… literally. The more you live, the more you realize you’re not in control. More times than not, we get bombarded with a little bit of everything and most times, it’s all at the same time. It’s hard to believe how we even function at all with all of life’s pressures we’re under sometimes. The bible says don’t worry, but more times than not, we worry. We’re told to cast our burdens to the Lord and as soon as we cast our burden, we pick it back up. We worry and carry around in our hearts so much e.g. our concerns for our children, parents, finances, jobs, bills, past hurts, inner demons and turmoil’s, personal goals, death of loved ones, etc.
This year has been arduous for my family and I…it has been extraordinarily and excruciatingly painful…tons of highs…tons of lows! When I’ve spoken to others, it’s been like that for a whole lot of people. How do we fulfill the will of God for our lives in the midst of Chaos, Struggle and Pain? Let’s allow God to minister to our brokenness today.
My heart was broken a thousand times over this year from losing so many loved ones in addition to facing sickness. The loss of some of our relatives was crushing and piercing and with some of these deaths, also caused the shattering of some dreams. Throughout this time, the Lord ministered to me about Philippians 4:4-8 which says:
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things….And the God of peace will be with you.
Being in ministry is no easy feat. Being a Minister’s wife and having a family dedicated to spreading the gospel is a tremendous work and responsibility. Most times, when you’re hurting the most, you have to push your feelings aside, help people and be a blessing. God is always at work, but so is the devil. God on one hand in pruning you, which at times, takes your breath away. Anytime God is at work, the devil always manages to stick in his stinking rotten head to cause you trouble, BUT GOD! Anytime you have a blessing coming your way, trust that the devil will do everything to destroy you, your destiny, your family, your ministry and everything that concerns you. Can I say EXHAUSTING, GUT WRENCHING and AGONIZING! Christ Is Telling His People “PRESS INTO MY PRESENCE…You Will Find What You Need In My Presence…”
As we are closing out 2019, some may be dreading 2020, some may be ecstatic to leave 2019 altogether. In all things, let’s find the reason, the goodness out of all of our trouble and heartbreak that’s we’ved faced in 2019 and find the Good in what God has done. Focus your attentions on what matter’s…His Goodness, His Mercy, His Love, Your Blessings…Fix Your Mind on What Matter’s Most and If You Need Help, You Can Find Him On Your Knee’s!!!
