Some people may read my post and think to themselves, “wow, she really has a problem with food…why can’t she just say no…just stop being greedy, say no and stop eating…it’s just food, it’s simple.” What society doesn’t realize is that most strongholds or destructive patterns of behavior stem from an issue INSIDE of you that you’re feeding, something you perhaps don’t wanna do, but it’s your way of trying to cope or “fix” what’s broken within you. For me, at this stage of walking out my transformation, my biggest struggle isn’t the food, it’s getting control over the desires of my flesh and telling it no, it’s dying and exercising that muscle of resistance and fighting against myself. This week, God’s ministering to me about the treasure we’d find WHEN we ALLOW ourselves to die.
Last week, the scripture that The Lord brought to my attention was Romans 6:8,
For when we die, we are set free from the power of sin.”
This week, the Lord is bringing to my attention WHY it’s crucial we die. As I look over my family and think about some members that have gone home to be with the Lord, I think of their struggles. Some of them overcame many things, some of them didn’t. I look at my current family that’s living and I think about our current struggles, some bondage’s and satan’s ploys that hinder us today.
As I pray over my family and against the hand of the enemy, The Lord has spoken to me about the importance of my own deliverance:
“this fight for your total and complete deliverance is bigger than you. In your fight and consistent dying, not only are you breaking bondage’s off your own life, but you’re breaking the bondage’s off you’re family’s life, those that have passed on and those that are living. You’re breaking vicious cycles of bondage’s off your kids, your household, your relatives, your relationships, the oppression, generational curses and familiar spirits that try to prevail against your family today. Not only that, for those family members that gone on, the bondage’s they didn’t break, you break and their death’s will no longer be in vain. You will be that chain breaker for many, for generations to come and for everyone you encounter.”
This one word changes my perception of my own deliverance thinking it’s only being about me.
What’s the Lord saying?
My full complete deliverance revolves around my ultimate purpose and destiny and it revolves around the destiny of others too. We think food, weight issues, small habits or anything we struggle with is just about us, but it’s not. God want’s us to look at the bigger picture, whatever we overcome, we gain ground over the enemy, position ourselves to receive the supernatural, break generational curses over our families, kids and IMPACT THE WORLD IN THE PROCESS!!!
In the book, “Death To Self: The Path to Change & The Power of God” by Guillermo Maldonado, he says,
…Christians refuse to die to self because they ignore their purpose on the earth. They do not know what is on the other side of that death. They do not realize the supernatural power that is released when why die to “self.” They easily surrender to temptations because their eyes continue to be on human power, on earthly dominion, on the feeding of the flesh, on protecting the carnal self, on recognition, status, on social position of any type. To die, over and over again, we need a revelation of the purpose and destiny that God has for each of us.”
When I read this, I automatically knew that this one principal was the one thing that changed my life and began my process of completing my physical transformation. Once God revealed to me the purpose behind my completing my physical transformation. Once I knew that my weight loss was connected to my purpose and that He desired to give me a ministry as a result of me overcoming, it was only then, I started taking back my health and fighting for my freedom.
Two things I’ll leave you with regarding our struggles:
- Every time we say no to our flesh, we take power away from satan, we free ourselves from satans grip and receive more supernatural power and access to heaven to fulfill our purpose
- As we die daily from moment to moment, God’s greatest will, plan, purpose, destiny and His supernatural power will come upon us. Only when we die consistently to ourselves will He reveal His will to us and his supernatural power to walk as Jesus walked upon the earth.
I pray for Grace, Grace, and more Grace for all us to commit to dying moment to moment, decision to decision, choice to choice. We have power to die daily, Jesus paid the price and now all we have to do is walk in His victory, it is already done.
