The Lord has truly been speaking to me about crucifying my flesh. For me, this is one of the hardest things I’m having to learn to do and conquer. At the end of the day, who really wants to tell themselves NO to something you really want? This is the area I struggle most when it comes to my eating habits. But God is saying to me, to all of us, the enemy is not playing with us. No matter what your struggle is, every time we say yes to anything satan’s offering, every time we give into temptation, every time we lean his way, we empower Him to control, manipulate and gain access to host demonic strongholds in our lives.
Do we realize that every time we lean the enemies way, we give him permission to come into our lives, our mind, our situations or our souls. When we say yes to anything he’s offering, he comes in groups, gangs and brings others with him. Every time we say yes to the enemy, he starts making a home for himself brick by brick. For every yes we give him, he’s laying down another brick. Over a period of time, he goes from just having a few bricks to building a shack, then a home, then a castle, then a fortress and that’s super duper alarming, hence, a stronghold.
I’ve been on a quest to examine myself, to search out the lies the enemy has been telling me regarding everything down to my weight loss efforts, family, habits, everything! As I’m seeking Him, The Lord has been faithful revealing the things that stand in the way of my purpose.
2 Corinthians 10: 3-7 say’s
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
As I was studying that scripture, verse 6 kept standing out,
…and being ready to punish all disobedience when YOUR obedience is fulfilled
What’s The Lord saying? I can pray all day long, I can worship, intercede, do good works, fast, everything, but if I’m wavering and straddling the fence with a particular issue, I’ll never be free unless I make up my mind to give it up. God can deliver us from our strongholds, BUT, I can’t pull down anything UNLESS I resolve in my mind to give it up and say NO to it. I have to be willing to die to anything ensnaring me. God gives us grace to overcome, but in the area of discipline and self-control, He leaves that up to us to CHOOSE and Heaven backs us up as we choose rightly. This is the hard truth,
YOU CAN’T PUNISH SATAN AND GO INTO HIS HOUSE AND TAKE BACK YOUR RIGHTS AND GOODS IF YOU’RE AGREEING WITH HIM!
That Word from The Lord was for me, but it’s for those struggling with anything just like me. The Lord has been dealing with me in this particular area and it hurts, it hurts a whole lot. If I’m going to be successful in overcoming satan, I can’t play or agree with him for one moment. I have to shut the door and stop wavering with certain things He’s calling me away from. For me, it’s my inconsistency to say NO to certain foods that throw me off course with my weight loss efforts. It’s a battle of consistency, discipline and self-control and making proper choices that’ll lead me to my goals. Some may wonder why that’s such a big deal, that’s a small thing, it’s just food, just say no!
But I’m here to tell you, a vice is a vice, a struggle is a struggle and a stronghold is a stronghold, either big or small, it desires to grip you by the neck and control you. ANY stronghold we deal with whether insignificant or huge, whether it’s food or drugs, a secret sin or lying, the enemy has an ultimate agenda behind it, OUR DEMISE! Satan desires to kill, steal and destroy EVERYTHING concerning us and He’s especially after our Purpose in Christ and Our Faith. He’s not playing with us and what we think is a little vice, He’s making larger webs for that thing to spill over and grow.
This is not to say you’re not going to struggle and won’t fall, but you, we, have to make up our mind to diligently work on overcoming consistently and not fall into reasoning why we think something’s OK when God clearly tells us it’s not! I can’t go into satan’s camp and take back my goods when I’m in agreement with him. I have to give satan a hard yes or a hard no and there’s no room to do both if I’m going to be successful winning my race. The bible say’s a double-minded man is unstable in all he does and I tell you, I’m tired of wavering and being double-minded.
The strongholds I don’t pull down today, I leave for my kids tomorrow and I’m not having that. I’ve come to far in Christ to back up now. I’ve made great strides and progress in my weight loss efforts but, I’m starting to see where I’m falling short and the Lord is revealing to me the roots of my struggle, so I’m on a mission, struggling in all to identify, repent, renounce and remove those things trying to keep me captive.

For those of you struggling with the Election results, Be Encouraged, Christ still sits on the Throne!. God has a plan and purpose for everything under Heaven. He Got Us, Let’s Pray like never before and stay on our knees for our Presidents, Our Country, The Body of Christ, Our Families and The Unsaved.
