I’ve tried to conquer obesity most of my adult life and failed miserably. I’ve come to learn over time, in the midst of my battles, God never leaves us to struggle alone. The spirit within us whispers, IT speaks, IT reveals the hidden things of God’s heart that He desires for us, but we, silence His voice. We allow our mind, will, emotions, our flesh and the enemy to override that sweet, small, still voice and we follow our flesh to our own demise hence, shackling us in Bondage.
It was the summer of 2015 that I heard that small still voice, “If you only knew the things I have in store for you if you’d just buckle down and commit to what I’m asking of you…all I’ve planned for you if you’d just commit, make up your mind to start and finish losing all of your weight. You have no idea what I have in store for you….” This time, for the first time, when He spoke, I listened and heard Him…His Words resonated within me. This time, I made up my mind and said, “Yes Lord, Yes!”
I didn’t know what it would cost me to say yes to the Lord, but I did know, it would cost me something and I’d be in pain. At that point, I was desperate and needed change. I’d had to settle in my mind and heart, I was going to forge forward no matter what…come what may. I knew this time, deep down within, if I actually kept going and finished the course, there’s something beautiful, something amazing, something greater awaiting me. It’s knowing this, that compels me to keep running, keep fighting and never quiting. It’s a made up mind that even if I have to walk through the fire, I’m going to press because I have a promise awaiting me…I can see it…I can touch it…I can taste it. This is what compels me to run and keep going…it’s a made up mind to run with my eyes on the prize unwavingly.
God is speaking. There’s something He desires for us, a promise-land that’s awaiting all of us, He want’s badly to give it to us, but the key is, we have to be hungry for it AND, we have to make up our mind that we’ll fight and endure to see it happen. God is no respector of persons, He’s moving in my life, I’m seeing visible signs of it now, but, it cost me something.
Christ is saying,
“ARE YOU WILLING TO SUFFER TO RECEIVE YOUR PROMISE? YOUR VICTORY? YOUR DELIVERANCE? YOUR PRIZE? It’s your’s for the taking, but, are you willing to be uncomfortable, to be in pain, to sacrifice the most to get it. If the answer is No, You’re not ready. Pray for a heart of courage, I’ll give it to you, pray for strength, I’ll give you that too. The only thing standing between you and my promise is one main thing, YOU! I’ve paid the price already but you have to do your part, make up your mind and take the first step, not looking at all the steps you have to take before you, but just looking at the each step as you take them. My grace will cover every step you take and I’ll be with you. Make up your mind and take the first step My love, I’ll be with you.”
Christ is calling His people, when you hear His voice, when He’s calling you away from something or asking you to do what seems like the impossible, He’ll give you the grace to say yes, but, it’s up to us to have a made up mind in saying yes, no matter what…no matter the price…no matter the pain…no matter the discomfort or sacrifice. Our healing, our deliverance, our purpose stands at the end of that pain with open arms, hearkening us to come. Let’s go after what Christ has for us…there’s more awaiting us as we go before him with a made up mind saying, Yes Lord, Yes!
