“The Journey To Obtaining Your Promise-land: First Conquest, YOU!”

In my journey of learning how to overcome strongholds, reverse the curse of obesity and learning new muscles in how to fight spiritually, truths about myself are being revealed daily. As I take on various projects, write and further develop B.O.O.M! and grow myself, the Lord has a mirror staring me in my face and He’s putting a break on some of my projects until I fully address and compete certain things.

In continuing to meditate on Joshua 5:7-9,

7 So Joshua circumcised their sons—those who had grown up to take their fathers’ places—for they had not been circumcised on the way to the Promised Land. 8 After all the males had been circumcised, they rested in the camp until they were healed.

9 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the shame of your slavery in Egypt.” So that place has been called Gilgal[d] to this day.”

As I was reading “Adventuring Through The Bible” by Ray C. Stedman, a passage in the book struck me,

As the Israelite’s contemplated taking possession of the (promise) land, they saw the tremendous city of Jericho with its huge walls.  While Jericho was the first visible obstacle in Israel’s pathway, their first actual obstacle was not external but internal. They first had to deal with something in their own lives.

God never begins His conquest with the outward problem.  You will discover that He always begins with YOU.”

Some of our goals and lack of progress in life isn’t always the devil, it’s God’s way of trying to slow us down to get our attention to the more important areas in our lives.  The Lord wants us to examine our heart and the issues in our heart that need fixing and addressing.

So as I’m pushing, pressing and trying to accomplish certain goals in my life, The Lord keeps slowing me down and reminding me to be consistent and complete the assignment He has me on now, find rest and healing now, obtaining wholeness now so then, I’ll be adequately prepared to receive His promises.

Sometimes, we can get so focused on getting to the next level or fighting outward devils that we forget that our heart needs work, past issues need closure and healing is needed.

The word of The Lord said to me and is saying to us,

“Instead of focusing on your next conquest, focus on your healing and wholeness. That’s where you’ll find me, in the hidden issues of your heart.  For I am close to the broken-hearted and, I heal your wounds. Slow down, be deliberate to position yourself to sit at my feet, that’s where you’ll find your healing, quieting yourself and sitting at my feet.”

Continue to join me as I share with you what Christ is sharing with me about overcoming. As always, Be Encouraged, Stay Connected, Fight and Let’s Become Free Together.
