I wrote this article several years ago during August of 2018, but it still speaks the voice of The Lord loud and clear today. As we embark on a new season, new decade, a new year, The Lord wants to awaken some things in us, His body, to move us forward. Whatever we’ve been struggling with before, it’s time to move forward and for 2020, slay that giant, conquer that beast, start that ministry, business, write that book and do what we haven’t been able to do…Walk in the FULLNESS of our calling in Christ Jesus.
Change and leaving old things behind is scary, intimidating and nerve racking. For many years, there were some things The Lord was asking me to seperate from, some relationships, behaviors, places, things I was used to doing that no longer served me well that were causing vicious cycles in my life. It was when I let those things go was when I realized The Lord was trying to save my life and give me more.
Israel had the same problem, the reluctance of letting go of the old to move foward to possess the new. Joshua 13:1,6 says,
Joshua was now very old. The Lord said to him, ‘You are very old, but there is still much land to be taken….6 I will drive out all these people out as the people of Israel ADVANCE.'”
The battle was already won for Israel, but all The Lord needed for the people to do was to be brave and actually advance, move forward, take the first steps towards their conquest and He in turn would drive out the enemy before them.
The Lord saying to us,
“Take one step towards obedience with whatever I’m requiring of you and I’ll move your giants out of your land.”
I’m learning daily, the only way to victory in any area of our lives is through OBEDIENCE. I’m learning daily, we cannot defeat an enemy we’re in agreement with. I’m learning daily, power and authority to make any mountains move in our lives starts with obedience, full obedience, not partial. I’m learning daily, He only moves miraculously in our lives when He sees us move and exercise our faith WHILE we’re moving.
God is not asking His people for the impossible, He’s just looking for willing hearts to take small first steps of obedience so He could show us the miraculous in delivering us.
Today, let’s challenge ourselves to take a step towards obedience in the area Christ is calling us too. As we decide to advance and move forward with an obedient heart, He promises to show up in our circumstance and move any strongmen or strongholds out of our way.
The Word of the Lord for 2020, Prepare & Get Ready! Let’s fall in alignment, heed the call of Obedience and get ready!!! This will be the year of the Church…The Body of Christ’s Great Awakening. Something is stirring…Get Ready!!!
