This fight against obesity, the sin in our lives and our own individual personal battles is truly bigger than us in our own strength. I realize that now more than ever before. It’s going to take a whole lot more than just a few outward changes in my behavior and decision making to permanently alter how I’ve been living, what I’ve become or where I want to go with God. That has been my quest this week…Allowing God To Show me…Me!
There are many of us, even those in the body of Christ, that are still so tangled up and living in bondage and half the time, we don’t even know it. You’ll be surprised the things hidden in our heart that manifest in our behaviors and in our decision making.
In order for us to find what’s hidden inside, we must deliberately search for it. Life in of itself doesn’t afford us the opportunity to causally soul search and dig deep to find our healing…we just don’t have the time…too many responsibilities…too many fires to put out…and honestly…there are some things we’d rather not dig up …things too painful to resurrect…so we bury the things we can’t and won’t deal with.
Whatever we bury or ignore… that issue, that hurt or pain…it won’t ever go away. That “thing” will always…always manifest itself outwardly in: our actions, decisions, relationships, thinking, perceptions, what we eat, where we go, what we say, what we do…one way or another, that “thing” will reveal itself…and when it comes…it looks to destroy…contaminate and decay everything we touch… unless it’s dealt with.
In John Paul Jackson’s Book “Unlocking Heaven’s Power,” he shared a scripture that stuck with me and caused me to pray differently:
Proverbs 23:7
As He Thinks In His Heart, So IS He!
Jackson say’s “As Proverbs 23:7 says, we become what we think in our hearts.” The questions I asked God is: “What Am I Thinking In My Heart? What Am I Thinking In My Heart That I Allowed Myself To Get This Obese? Reveal To Me What’s Going On In My Heart?
WHAT DOES YOUR HEART THINK?
I realized and God has been ministering to me that If I want to be free, I have to have the same tenacity, resolve, determination and fight in me to press pass the pain, the discomfort and discipline myself not only in what I eat and do, but press into His presence to find out what’s going on in my heart. So this week, I’ve been really pressing into God in prayer and consecration determined to stay on the course He’s given me.
I REALIZE NOW I NEED GOD’S POWER TO FIGHT AND THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET HIS POWER IS BY STAYING IN HIS PRESENCE…SEEKING HIS FACE…GIVING UP ANYTHING THAT CAUSES ME TO STUMBLE OR LIMITS HIS POWER…RAISING THE BAR OF MY PRAYER LIFE AND TIME WITH HIM & HIS WORD…BEARING MY SOUL & ALLOWING MYSELF TO HURT SO HE CAN DEAL WITH MY HIDDEN PAIN…DENYING MYSELF THINGS I WANT…SEEKING HIM LIKE MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!
In this press of seeking Him relentlessly this week, I feel Empowered and have been able to do what I haven’t been able to do in the past…so I know the changes and sacrifices I’ve made this week, I’ve tapped into something which I will share with you later…
Stay connected to B.O.O.M!…God is speaking not just to me but His people. He Wants Us To Win…It’s Bigger Than Obesity…It’s The Freeing Of Our Souls…I Encourage You…If You’re Struggling With Anything…Seek Him Like Never Before…There Is A Reward In Our Pressing, Sacrificing & Denying Ourselves For Him…There Is A Reward Awaiting Us If We Determine In Our Heart To Let Him Heal Us Where We Hurt Or That Thing That Keeps Us in Our Cycles. Be Willing To Face Some Pain…There Is a Reward Awaiting You As You Cross That Threshold Into Freedom…
In This Fight For Freedom, Let’s Seek God Like Never Before. We Will Only Win When We Truly Hook Up With Him, Let Him Finish The Work In Us & Receive His Power.

Hebrews 12
1…let us THROW OFF (Get rid of) EVERYTHING THAT hinders and the sin that so easily entangles (TRIPS US UP)…
(BE) DETERMINED TO RUN THE RACE that is ahead of us.
2 WE MUST KEEP OUR EYES ON JESUS, who leads us and makes our faith complete.
BECAUSE OF THE JOY AWAITING HIM, HE ENDURED The Cross And Disregarded It’s Shame.
NOW HE IS SEATED IN A PLACE OF HONOR Besides God’s Throne!
3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people (THINK OF WHAT HE WENT THROUGH); THEN YOU WON’T BECOME WEARY & GIVE UP. 4 After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.
7 ENDURE HARDSHIP as discipline; God is treating you as his children…
11 No DISCIPLINE IS is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s PAINFUL! BUT AFTERWARD THERE WILL BE A HARVEST (A REWARD) of right living for those who are trained in this way.
12 (STAND UP!) …take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.
13 MARK OUT A STRAIGHT PATH FOR YOUR FEET (KEEP YOUR FOCUS,BE DETERMINED & GO!)
So that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong (Those That Are Weak May See You Win, Be Helped & Encouraged).
